The Fairmont was a pretty high class hotel for a county sheriff, but apparently the Biagettis were regular customers here. When he was shown up to Alesandro’s suite he had to work hard not show how impressed he really was. There was an ornate balcony off the bedroom that had an amazing city view, all the way to the bay, and thank God it had an extra long bed. Hell this place wasn’t much smaller than his own home. Well for at least one night he was seeing how the other half lived. Although to be fair neither Amber nor the four brothers he knew ever rubbed it in. They were all pretty well grounded now that he thought about it. With Amber in the adjoining suite he felt confident that he would be able to keep an eye, and an ear on her. They were actually a couple of hours early for normal check-in, but he guessed that sort of thing didn’t matter here. He had insisted on the drive down that she was not to go anywhere alone. Which of course ticked her off. He had an idea he was going to be dragged to half the stores in San Francisco very soon.

As expected, Amber rang the bell of his suite no more than 10 minutes later. She was dressed casually in jeans and a sweater, (and man did that sweater look good on her) and soft low heeled boots. She looked comfortable enough to shop for hours!

“Are you still insisting on tagging along everywhere I go” she asked with what looked suspiciously like a smirk to Nash.

“We both know I have to. The fact that you were attacked yesterday proves that your brothers are right to be concerned. I don’t know what’s going on yet, but I am going to find out. I’m not going to let anyone hurt you Amber.”

She sighed dramatically, but at least her face softened. “I still think you guys are making a mountain out of a molehill, but fine. I have to warn you I have a lot of shopping to do and not much time to do it in. We have to be back tomorrow before the full moon you know. Well of course you know. Hey look at it this way. You will be able to get in a ton of girl watching…you just better not bring any of them back here capisce?”

“Capisce. And just why would I ever think of doing that with you right next door? He grinned. “Come on lets get this over with.”

“Oh now that’s just a bad attitude. Why this city has great shopping! I have to get shoes and boots, an evening dress, casual clothes, accessories, lingerie…ha! I knew that would get your attention” she continued in this vein all the way to the elevator.

Four hours and six stores later Nash was sitting and waiting while he listened to his stomach growl. Most of the stores served tea and some kind of dainty little sandwiches that wouldn’t keep a flea alive. Champagne could be had, but no real food. At least this store sold some very interesting undies, and the way some of the women were checking him out he’d bet they would be willing to model some for him too.

That pleasant thought was rudely interrupted by a feminine scream from the changing room. He ran in at supernatural speed and went straight to Amber. He’d recognize her scent for the rest of his life. “What is it, what’s wrong?” he yelled. He found her kneeling on a chair staring at a corner of the room, but he couldn’t see anyone there and couldn’t see how anyone could have gotten past him.

“Oh Nash! SPIDER!” Half the women in the changing rooms screamed at that word.

“You have got to be fucking kidding, right?” he said with a look on his face that would have made grown men want to turn and run. “You scared the hell out of me over a fucking spider!”

“Well it’s a very big spider. Oh God there it is! Kill it ! Kill it!

He went over to the back of the room and stepped on the poor thing. Turning back to Amber he was prepared to give her hell until he noticed what she was wearing, well almost wearing. The black confection cinched in her already slender waist and pushed her generous breasts over the top like twin moons rising over the dark ocean. She had not completely finished lacing it up so even more of that creamy skin was revealed in a deep V almost to her navel, and oh man her legs were sooo long.

“Uh, um, you really should get that Amber. Yep, uh that one is definitely a keeper, and I need to get out of here before I drool all over it.” He left the room so fast he didn’t even notice the other half dressed women. Over his shoulder he said again “Definitely need to buy that one, definitely”

Grinning, Amber told the sales clerk “I’ll take the red one too.”

Thirty minutes later they were headed back to the Fairmont to freshen up for dinner. Nash insisted on checking her room before he left her alone. Everything seemed fine so he asked her when and where they were going to dinner.

“Well I know you must be starving and tired so I told them to set dinner up on the patio in 30 minutes. Is that OK?”

“You’re an angel. I am so not a shopper…although that last place was pretty interesting”

“I’ll just bet it was! How many phone numbers did you pick up there anyway?” At his “who me” look she pushed him out the door and told him to be back in 30 minutes.

Exactly 30 minutes later Nash was back and ready to eat. Amber greeted him at the door freshly scrubbed and still beautiful, wearing the big soft terry cloth robe the hotel provided. “Hey now. You didn’t tell me it was formal.” He said with mock severity. “I would have worn mine.“

You’re not the only one who’s tired , and my feet hurt. You got to sit all day”

The hotel had set a table with tablecloth, china, crystal and silver. Not quite what he’d call causal, but whatever was under those covered dishes smelled fantastic, and the view was amazing. The night skyline of San Francisco all the way to the Bay Bridge was their background tonight.

Sitting down Amber said “For being my hero and slaying the wicked spider, and for behaving yourself all afternoon, “ She lifted one of the silver dish covers, “Château Briand” the next cover revealed steamed fresh asparagus with some kind of sauce, and the third, small roasted potatoes. She picked up her glass of red wine and indicated he should do the same. With a clink of glasses she said “Here’s to a great day of shopping with good company. I mean it Nash you surprised me. Not one single bad guy in sight either.”

They both dug into their dinner with gusto, talking about the upcoming birthday party and tomorrow night being the full moon. “If you can shift at will, are you influenced by the full moon? I mean do you have to shift like the rest of us?” Nash asked the question he had been wondering about.

“No I’m not compelled to shift, but I normally shift and run with my brothers. Strega are Earth witches, so the full moon is an important night for us as well. We offer our thanks and leave a sacrament for the Moon Goddess Selene. Fortunately the days of animal sacrifice are over. I give our Goddess my own blood as an offering” At Nash’s look of shock she added “Just a small offering. I don’t open up a vein or anything.”

“I’d like to see the ceremony. I guess you could say that Selene is the “patron saint” of werewolves when you think about it.”

“I’d be honored to have you there. Most of the local Wicca will be there too.” She sat back from the table. “I’m stuffed.

“Me too. Guess I’d better go back to my room and let you rest.” Nash stated as he got up from the table. “It has been a great day, Amber. I enjoyed your company, even if it was for shopping.”

She walked him to the door, then slipped her arms around his waist and stepped up on her toes to kiss him goodnight. That simple contact made the whole world explode in heat and light. Nash pulled her closer and deepened the kiss, running the tip of his tongue along her bottom lip to taste the wine and Amber.

“That was not a good idea, kitten. You have no idea what your doing.”

“Oh Nash, I know exactly what I’m doing,” She stepped away from him and untying the robe, she let it fall to the floor. She stood there wearing nothing but the black corset and a very big smile.

Oh my, Marsha! I’m loving this story! You’re discriptions especially the changeroom & the meal are wonderful. I’m really hoping that you are going to keep going. However, he’s cheating on her?! The dirt bag! I hope she turns him into a frog or something!

Thank you Jen. I just had this idea that a man who loves that many women would have a tough time being collared, he would have to try at least one more time to convince himself he wasn’t “caught”. I am think of continuing the story just for my own benefit, to get them out of my head.:)

What I love is how you never considered going further with your story – yet here you are, five parts later. This is excellent Marsha! I’m really enjoying it. 🙂 Don’t stop just because February’s done!!

Great job Marsha! I loved the dressing room scene too. Loved that you teased us (and Nash) into thinking she was being attacked or kidnapped 😉 Nice descriptions on that outfit! I love how confidant Amber is.

Yes, Marsha your writing has also made me hungry 🙂 Good thing it’s almost dinner time over here.

Thanks Tiffany. I think your writing is amazing, so I appreciate your compliment. About the food, maybe it’s my Italian side. One of my biggest regrets is that I wanted to be a chef.

Oh, my, Marsha, where do I begin!? Lol. This had me laughing then, well, let’s just say Antonio doesn’t have a monopoly on erotic descriptive passages. And THANK YOU!! for that. Seriously, this was fantastic! The spider in the dressing room had me in stitches. I had to show it to my brother, it was sooo good. Dainty sandwiches that wouldn’t feed a flea. That was perfect. The scene in Amber’s hotel suite is one I’ll be reading again. Actually, I’m going to read this entire story again, lol! And you never disappoint with the food and wine descriptions. Yum.

ps- On the discussion page you asked me if I read Richelle Mead’s books. Not yet but I will. I saw them in b&n and read a little. You’re right they’re really good! I really like Eugenie. I remember you recommended them to me and as soon as I have some spare change, lol, I’ll buy them. So thanks for suggesting them! 😀 And thanks for an awesome story!

Ah Phil. You make me feel better about my effort. Descriptive prose is not my strong point, but I had that image in my head for awhile. I’m running out of time for another chapter though.

OK, Marsha–you have got my attention… 😉 I want to hear more about those generous breasts that are “like twin moons rising over a dark ocean.” Anyway, I like this one, it moves w/a purpose…that’s no small thing…making things happen instead of just talking…not going too fast or taking too long to get somewhere…there’s got to be a morning after, right?

LOL OK maybe description is not one of my talents. I was going to take it further for you this time, but I noticed how long it was getting again. I’ll try to get one more chapter in before the end of the month. But I’ve got to tell you in my head he’s already cheating on her and he isn’t too happy about it.
